mistakes are inevitable
Something that we often forget is that as humans, there are two things that are inevitably hardwired into us - sin & error. if there is something we will never be on this earth… it’s perfect. but that’s how it’s supposed to be. we were created to try & make as many mistakes as it takes to learn something valuable and push ourselves in the right direction. perfection is unrealistic, unattainable, and an overall unfair expectation to have for ourselves or of our work.
i’m learning that focusing on negative feelings & things that didn’t go how i maybe had planned it to, always leads to just more negative feelings. every single time. i have never felt better after fixating on a mistake i made & putting myself down for it. i would much rather think “okay next time i know not to do that” & continue on with my day than to sit and overthink myself into wasted time & mental energy.
i wouldn’t have learned many important lessons if i didn’t make many mistakes.
something to take away is that just like with anything, you can’t have the good without the bad. how would you even recognize it if you didn’t have the opposite to compare it to?
